BIMBINGAN KARIR UNTUK SUMBER DAYA MANUSIA MENJELANG PRODUKTIF GEN Z PELAKU OLAHRAGA PETANQUE KOTA SURAKARTA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN WAWASAN DAN PERSIAPAN MENUJU DUNIA KERJA

Abstract

The community service program titled "Career Guidance for Human Resources Towards the Productive Gen Z of Petanque Sports Players in Surakarta City, to Enhance Knowledge and Prepare for the Workforce" was held on May 20, 2024, at hall university of Tunas Pembangunan Surakarta, and was attended by 40 participants consisting of teenagers and young adults in their productive age, most of whom had no prior work experience. The main objective of this program was to provide insights and prepare participants to face the challenges of the workforce, using methods such as lectures, group discussions, simulations, career planning, skills training, and mentoring. The results of the program implementation showed that the lecture method effectively provided fundamental knowledge about the workforce and career opportunities, followed by group discussions that allowed participants to share experiences and broaden their perspectives. Simulations and role-playing were proven to be effective in enhancing participants' communication skills and mental readiness for real-world work situations, while career planning helped participants develop concrete steps toward achieving their professional goals. Skills training, both technical and non-technical, boosted participants' confidence, and mentoring offered personal support in designing career steps. Overall, the program successfully enhanced the participants' readiness to enter the workforce, with 80% of participants reporting an increase in their understanding and preparedness. This program is expected to serve as a model for other career guidance programs in areas with similar characteristics.
