ANALISIS KEBUTUHAN RUANG PARKIR

(Studi Kasus: Jalan Gatot Subroto, Kecamatan Serengan, Kota Surakarta)

Abstract

Surakarta City is one of the cities in Central Java Province. Surakarta City is known as the center of tourism, education, and economy. Shopping centers which are economic activities, one of which is shopping centers along Jalan Gatot Subroto, therefore it is necessary to pay attention to the provision of supporting facilities such as parking spaces so that there is no accumulation of vehicles which results in traffic jams. Busy shopping center activity causes an increase in the volume of vehicles entering and exiting the shopping center area so that many vehicles are difficult to park. On holidays the increase in visitors is very high which has an impact on the problem of the capacity of available parking spaces.The purpose of this study was to determine road capacity and off street parking capacity on Jalan Gatot Subroto. The method used refers to the basics of MKJI and Technical Guidelines for the Directorate of Land Transportation 1996 and parking characteristics from Hobbs 1995. The data obtained from the survey results are processed using Microsoft Excel in order to determine the value of Parking Space Requirements and Road Capacity. The conclusion from the calculation of the field survey results, the need for car parking is 40 SRP and motorcycles 143 SRP. Judging from the needs and capacity, the number of SRP cars is not sufficient. Road capacity can still accommodate vehicle traffic in the range of <50%. Therefore it should be more disciplined for parking.
