Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of majelis taklim assistance in increasing religious awareness among the community in Sumber Mulia Village. Before the assistance, the level of community participation in majelis taklim activities was low, with only 20 active participants. However, after the assistance provided by university students, the number of participants increased to 35, reflecting a 75% increase in participation. Despite the improvement, the community's religious understanding remains limited to ritual practices, with little application of Islamic social values and ethics in daily life. The differences in schools of thought (mazhab) and the abundance of mosques in the village have contributed to the low participation in religious activities. Therefore, the assistance program needs to be expanded to include the teaching of ethics and social values in Islam and to involve community leaders to ensure the sustainability of the program after the assistance ends. It is hoped that with a more inclusive approach, the community can enhance their religious awareness holistically and apply religious teachings in their social lives.
